
CMS Grammar School, Bariga, Lagos
The Old Grammarians’ Society (‘OGS’), umbrella body of Old Boys of CMS Grammar School, Bariga, Lagos, holds its yearly Merit Award and Fund-Raising Ceremony today, Saturday, November 19, in the school hall at 1:00 pm.
The event takes place under the chairmanship of Prince Adedapo Adelegan Chairman and President-in-Council, Nigerian/British Chamber of Commerce, while Chief S. Ade Ojuri is the Father of the Day.
According to a statement released in Lagos by OGS President, Mr. Adedapo Fashanu, old boys who have contributed significantly to the socio-economic/political life of the nation will be honoured. The event, he also noted, would serve as avenue to raise funds for the continuing rehabilitation of the school facilities.
The event begins with a tour of the school by the awardees, old boys and guests to appreciate the improvement in the facilities since the handover of the school by the Lagos State Government to the Anglican Mission.
A new inclusion in the award category this year is the Family Award. The award will be presented to the Awojobi Family who have had up to their 5th generation attend the School, while the Corporate Award goes to Nigerian Breweries Plc.
The Class Set Award will be presented to the 1974/76 Set (Winner), 1991 Set (1st Runner-Up) and 1960 Set (2nd Runner-Up). The Branch/Chapter Award will be presented to the Americas Chapter.
